Proposed Criteria for Enzyme and Transporter Models
Each function enzyme or transporter entry in this database meets the following scientific criteria:
- The catalytic or transport mechanism is thermodynamically feasible.
- The catalytic or transport mechanism is expressed in terms of chemical species so that it can account for variable biochemical state (pH, ionic strength, temperature, metal ion concentrations.)
- The reported parameter value estimates are sensitive to data presented to identify the model.
- The model has been or is currently undergoing peer review.
In addition, each entry in this database includes the following minimal information resources:
- A link to a peer-reviewed scientific publication describing the model details.
- A description of the mechanism and complete set of associated model equations.
- A table (or tables) of model parameter value estimates that are tissue- and species-specific.
- Plots of and references to the data that are explained by the model.
- (If possible) Links or references to data not explained by the model.
